Year 7 Catch-Up Premium Grant: 2017/18
The Department for Education has allocated £500 per pupil for the number of students who did not achieve an expected level of attainment at the end of KS2 for both English and maths: above a scaled score of 100.
This academic year (2017/18) the allocation of funds for this purpose is approx. £28,000 (56 students)
The monies are being used to fund the intervention programme listed below:
· Accelerated reader – reading intervention
· Hackney Literacy Trust programme
· The purchase of resources to teach literacy and numeracy
· Specific teaching and training to deliver high quality intervention to identified cohorts
Outcomes for 2017/18
The impact of these intervention can be seen through the levels of progress made by the cohort at the attainment levels at the end of the year. At the end of the year, out of the forty students in English Catch- Up A List, thirty-five have made the expected gains in their attainment. In the B List one out of four have now made the expected standard. Those that did not, continue to benefit from the provisions in place.
