Year 7 Catch-Up Premium Grant: 2017/18

The Department for Education has allocated £500 per pupil for the number of students who did not achieve an expected level of attainment at the end of KS2 for both English and maths: above a scaled score of 100.

This academic year (2017/18) the allocation of funds for this purpose is approx. £28,000 (56 students)

The monies are being used to fund a combination of the intervention programmes listed below:

  • Accelerated reader – reading intervention
  • Hackney Literacy Trust programme
  • Lexia
  • The purchase of resources to teach literacy and numeracy
  • Specific teaching and training to deliver high quality intervention to identified cohorts

Outcomes for 2016/17

The impact of these intervention can be seen through the levels of progress made by the cohort at the attainment levels at the end of the year. At the end of the year, 28 out of the 32 students in English had made the expected gains in their attainment. Those that did not continue to benefit from the provisions in place.
