EYFS

At Langdon Academy, we believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. Children develop quickly in the early years and a child’s experiences between birth and age five have a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right.  Good parenting and high quality early learning, together provide the foundation children need to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up.

This page is intended to give you some information about how the Early Years Foundation Stage works at Langdon Academy, the routines and systems and how we work together with parents to ensure their children develop and achieve their potential. We are a very inclusive school, and have experience in supporting children and families with many differing needs. Never be afraid to ask a question of us, we always work to find an answer as quickly as possible.

We believe that every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable and successful. We make sure that children develop through positive relationships with each other and all adults to support their learning in our school. In our school, children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents/carers.

As the environment plays a key role in supporting a child’s development we offer our children an inspiring indoor and outdoor curriculum where children are supported in their learning in different areas such as: Communication and Language, Physical development, Personal, Social and Emotional development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.  Langdon Academy is very lucky to have 43 acres of land, which means that we have ample outdoor space to ensure that our children can learn both indoors, and out.  Please take the time to explore our environment, as this is what makes us stand out from other Primary Schools in the local area.
